“I chose a career in nursing because I wanted to focus on supporting and building relationships with patients in need of care. I worked as a registered nurse at Three Rivers Medical Center for 11 years, first in the birth center and then in post-surgical and ICU. During that time, I also served as a nurse educator at Rogue Community College.
I learned a lot in hospital nursing and developed many great relationships with local area doctors. But I wanted to add to my training so I could be of more value to patients. I pursued two Masters degree in nursing—one with a focus on research and education and the other to earn my family nurse practitioner certification. Nurse practitioners (NPs) have specialized education in diagnosing and treating illnesses and the license to work independently and in collaboration with physicians.
As your primary care provider, I see myself as your partner and cheerleader in helping you enjoy the best health possible. That starts by learning your personal goals for your own health. I want to provide the education and medical care you need to live as happy and healthy a life as you can imagine.”
